I am trying to resolve a performance issue on our web site that is hosted on a sun box: for every one out of 6/7 page reloads the connection hangs.
We've discovered that for some reason the browser is sending out a NETBIOS request (in the middle of the transfer of a page), which is blocked by our firewall. It's almost as if the browser is trying to resolve our domain name via NETBIOS. While browsing inside the firewall no hangs occur.
Can anyone give me any ideas on why this could be happening and any resources/references that would explain the likely culprit?
Thanks.
Matt

I think you'd be better served to post this problem on the relevant Q&A board instead of here.
I'd think you'd be more satisifed with the speed of the replies as well...the discussion forums are more for well...discussions, and often are of a highly opinionated matter.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
