help with ghosting a pc

I have an old compaq,486, 40gb hard drive, non networked pc, running only dos which is necessary for the software installed. This pc is connected to some medical machines through an interface module. I would like to replace the PC. Is is possible to maybe ghost this pc so that I can have the same set up/configuration on a dell p200 mhz machine. What would I need? I dont have the install disks for the software running or for dos or I would do it that way..
