Just recently I’m attending a college and running my computer off their nice t1 line network. However, the firewall blocks several ports needed for any outside software (IM services, games, etc). Out of all the instant messenger programs out there, yahoo! works for some reason but none of the others (aim, msn, icq) work. I’m trying to find out why Yahoo works, and what can I do to “get around” the firewall or at least make it work for me somehow, if there is any way, that is. I dont have any control over the firewall or server end of the network, so that won’t help me. But if there’s anything else, I’d appreciate any help.
