Please help with the following questions:

1. Where is the SAM database located?
2. How can I create a Logon script with the "logonserver" parameter. Can you guide me through?
3. How can you copy the NT Directory database?
4. How can you disable the floppy drive in NT, so that users can't access it.
5. How can you use a template to set up a system policy for all users/computers in the domain.
6. How can you bypass the Ctrl+Alt+Del combination
7. How can you avoid concurrent logon

HELP WITH NT 4.0 Questions

by Joseph Moore In reply to HELP WITH NT 4.0 Question ...

1) %windir%\system32\config (for example, C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG)
2) Try this Technet article, "How to Use %LOGONSERVER% to Distribute User Profiles (Q141714):;en-us;Q141714
3) don't understand question.Sorry.
4) Registry tweak:
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Name: NoDrives
Value: To calculate the value, add together the numbers for the drives you want tohide, using the formula: A=1, B=2, C=4, D=8, E=16, F=32, G=64, and so forth. To hide & E:, the value would be 8+16=24.
5) I hate using POLEDIT. Sorry.
6) Another Registry tweak:
Value Name: DisableCAD
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = Require Ctrl+Alt+Delete, 1 = Disable)
7) Please read Technet article "Limiting a User's Concurrent Connections in Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 (Q237282):;en-us;Q237282

hope this helps
