Help with remote desktop from XP to Vista

By adam_ringer ·
I am having some problems setting up my remote connection from xp pro to vista ultimate. I can connect fine from my home network, but i would like to be able to connect remotely. I have set up my router to forward port 3389 to my desktop which is the one running vista. When i try to connect to the IP of my router it says that it cant connect. I tried to specify the port in the adress as well and i got the same answer. I have a US robotics 8054 wireless router and it works perfect when i am home. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Suggest to the Official Paying M$ Beta Testers to visit the Vista Forum run by M$ for help here

It's certainly much cheaper than ringing M$ but I'm not sure what the advice is like. Currently most IT Professionals are refusing to have anything at all to do with Vista as it's still very much in the Beta Stage from our point of view with a lack of drivers and available software it isn't of any use to us in business.
