Help with transfering files (photos)

By jgil_47 ·
I need some specific advice on how to transfer a lot of picture files from one computer to another in the same house. We bought a new lap top and have an older desk top that we want to replace and the burner is dead. I really dont want to replace the burner since we are going to replace the computer. Can some one help? Thanks in advance. Both of our computer have XP on them.

USB Flash Drive

If you don't have one or six already, you can buy them cheap. Transfer your photos onto one, plug into the new pc and give them a folder.

I carry a 4G drive in my handbag loaded with the basics- recent patches, Zone Free, AVG Free, Crap Cleaner, a couple of other tools. I also carry a 2G for personal file storage and my encrypt tool. Fiance has a 4G with encrypt and a 2G for key storage. They are great to have about.

If you are willing to spend a few dollars more you can find 8-10G storage devices that you connect via USB for whatever your storage needs.

If USB is not an option, consider Picasa by Google. It will install itself and read all the photos you own. It will also give you the option of uploading to the web. Attach your new computer to the web, go to the webspace, download your heart out.

good Luck!
