Here is another issue that should be addressed

This seems to be a new functionality of TR, when you read a blog and get down to the discussion section it lists the top posts as a default setting, not seeing where I can change this in my stuff.

But that is not the problem, the problem is that this discussion has 6 posts, one is spam and has been marked as -1, the other 5 have not been marked + or -, that one negative post shows as the top rated, guess that means that a -1 is better than a zero.

What? -1 a higher rating than zero, strikes me as odd.
I guess any rating is better than zero, right?

here it is;;content

Just in case it changes by the time you read this here is what it looked like;

One way it makes sense...

if there is a distinction between "rated" and "unrated" posts, then a -1 can be the top rated post, if it's the only rated one, or if the other rated ones have -2 or below
But that would be pretty silly

So just to play

I went and gave bigjude a +1 and he/she appeared as the top rated, then went back and gave the spammer another -1 and still bigjude stays on top.

Yes, you are right any rating as long as the others have none is the top rating, but that should not be the case, if everyone has zero and one has -1 then the zeros are the top rated, and there can only be one top rated, and I submit that -1 is not a top rating.

As you said much before this, the rating system has some issues.

Face it.

Whatever 'we' had going for us here is hosed. Just love when major conglomerates get ahold of great things and send them down the toilet.

Do you realize its been almost a year since the site "upgrade"?

And TR is still buggy and unpredictable. I gave up trying to figure out what the voting buttons are good for anyway. When we had thumbs, they accumulated and were shown next to your username. When you get votes, what good are they if they don't accumulate and are not apparent to anyone. The thumbs gave a member "status", that was mostly earned. Ok, maybe there were a couple of times we all had a little fun with giving out thumbs.

AV I have absolutely no idea what you mean by that. :^0

Remember the Tech Points? I though that they where more useful than the Thumbs.

Though with the 3 Freezers I have full of Thumbs here while they may have given me some Street Cred they sure are expensive to store and if you don't store them they get smelly very quickly.

You can't throw them in the rubbish as you get difficult questions that the Authorities want answered so I just keep them in the freezers.

But I also notice noscript blocks a lot of different domains, I figure I have one blocked that I need unblocked. Do you know which?

I don't have problems with those sites allowed. I don't know which of those is the one you need to allow or why scripts from so many different sites are required to make one site work, but they all need to be allowed to get full functionality on TR.
