Please, before answering, read the the Question ’till the END
Hi evera Body, my name ist Cecil (m/28) I’m new hear and pleasent to increase my Knoledge in the Computer-Branche.
I have a Question, and I thoght maybe someone could help me.
I friend of mine wonnted a new HDD. so I bought one for me and one for Him (WD 60GB) for about $140. I had no problem, and becouse his Computer is not moch older than mine, thought he wouldn’t get any problem.
—The BIOS won’t detecht the HDD. and not even when I give the Specs.—
We tried everything that crosed my Mined. even an EZ-Driver(or is it EZ-Bios…?), and the EZ-Bios helps but only when the new HDD is connected as “Slave” and this Software runs from the Master HHD(wich is 9.GB)
I have not Idea why that might so be. I thought every BIOS that recognizes HDD biger that 8GB, has no Problem with Largerones.
My last thought is…
….maybe if my friend byes an Controlercard, but I don’t know how it works, and I don’t Know if the Computer will recognize the HDD when just the largerone is conected at the Controler.
I’m open to suggestions, and I HOPPE You excuse my orthographie.
Resume:
-HDD: has been tried out as single, Master, and Slave. It wont be shown at the Computers Start.
-HDD: won’t be recognized be the CMOS allthought the Computer has an Auto Detect Funktion.
-HDD: will only be recognize from Windows when HDD as Slave conected, and Z-Drive installed.
-HDD: Is 100% Funktion (tried out in my Mashine).
-Question: Would a Controler (Raid Controler or something like that) Help?
-Question: How does a Controler works?
-Question: Will the Controler work though the HDD hasn’t been recognized from BIOS?
If I ask a question here, ist becouse I had a Problem, and not becouse I can not shage the Jumpers of an HDD.
