Hi all

By hungnguyen_72 ·
I did try to setup the passwprd in BIOS, which is under Security. However, it does not work for me for several reasons:

1. When pressing F1, there is a prompt of asking to enter t he password. I still be aable to enter BIOS by simply clicking ENTER without entering password. Therefore, it can't prevent the kids doing something to corrupt the BIOS.

2. Whenever booting the computer, the computer will ask to enter password to enter the password to run the computer. I do not want to be like that.

My main point is to freze the BIOS from the kids, so that they cannot access the BIOS and destroy it. If you know any thing, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

P.S. It is similar from school system; students can't access into BIOS/CMOS. How can they do at school?
Thanks for your help again

If you specified a password is required to enter the BIOS, save the config and exit, should work. Some BIOS have 2 security levels. Might be you only set one.

Give the make/model of the computer and if you can what BIOS it is e.g. Award/Phoenix/AMI

When you do this, have you tried changing anything and saving it? Some will still let you in but will not let you change anything.

Hi
First tell which company bios u have
A bios has 2 security levels user and system
one of it allows access to the system only to the person who knows the password. The other level allows access to the bios. Set the system level and save and reboot

Do tell the company of bios. That will be necessary
