Question

Locked

Hi, I wanted to know what the reason my pc freezes. How do I correct this.

By fsilver9 ·
Usually when I close or open branded music player, when working with photos or with any program when I do several things at once, it freezes so I have to manually press the Restart button.
I've uninstalled the program and install it from scratch by deleting the registry and there is no case ... most of the time is with that program, but also with the Source Counter branded me last time, is relative, but the number of times freezes, I have to restart manually.

My pc right with seven windows, these are the data on my machine:

Ultimate 32-bit Windows 7
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000 + 2.10GHz Processor
2GB RAM
Video Card: VIA Chrome9 HC IGP Family WDDM

You need to get more memory...

You have a very small amount of memory in your laptop. If you are using a tower computer then update your memory to the maximum that your motherboard can take, so being you are using Windows 7 32 bit system, this will only be able to utilize about 3gb of memory (give or take a few megs). So, my advice to you is get bigger memory for your computer if at all possible.

Avoiding pc freezes

by toolmanz91 In reply to Hi, I wanted to know what ...

Hello fsilver9,
First you need a little free software called ccleaner you can find it at:
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Second: read this Microsoft article:
http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx
And of course for a laptop you need at least 3GB RAM.
Best regards

More information needed

by TG2 In reply to Hi, I wanted to know what ...

A little more information is needed.

1) what branded music player? (name the software and its version)

2) what age is your machine, did you build it?

3) VIA Chrome9's aren't stand alone video cards. When its said "video card" it means a physical card that can be removed from the system and replaced by another. the IGP stands for Integrated Graphics Processor, which again suggests this isn't a "card" product.

Even just hearing that the video is Via Chrome 9 smacks of this being a micro board, or very cheap product .... if so, that adds more to the "what if" category of what could be going wrong.

4) When the system "freezes" do you always see the Hard Drive light active or stuck on solid?

5) be prepared with a list of peripherals attached ... some "lockups" could be caused by random refresh of connected devices ...

Lets start with those questions and we'll see if others on here can help you too..
