hibernate does work when enabled

I am using Windows XP pro and when hibernate is enabled it does not work when I try to select it in the last window before I shut down the computer? Please help.

its probably due to some bad driver thats preventing it. Update your drivers and try it again.

Which drivers? I did update to service pack 2 yesterday; but still, cannot get the computer to hibernate.

are u sure u have enough disk space to allow hibernation ?

One other thing you might try is updating the bios. The bios has contol over your hardware and could very well be causing the problem. Find out who makes your computer and go to their website to see if they have any updated bios revisions for download. When you boot your machine up at the beginning you can tell what version you have usually in the top left corner. Then compare that to their website.
