Hibernation Windows 2000

By wburdine ·
I've got an IBM Thinkpad model T23; when it attempts to go into sleepmode or hibernation, it will come to a complete halt. The Mouse will continue to move but the only recovery is to hold the Power Button down for about 10 seconds to restart the unit. the ALT/Con/Del will not recover. Any ideas on this one?

My guess is that there is a conflict between Win2K power management and hardware power management configured in the bios. If you want Windows to do the management you need to disable any power management settings in the bios.

There a blue function key at the bottom left corner of your keypad. Press that key down and hold for a few seconds. This wakes up the laptop from hibernation mode. Hope this helps.
