Hide disk drives from users windows 2000

By Judim ·
I have a windows 2000 system set up by someone else. There are 2 OUs that have drive c hidden and also any USB drives that are plugged in. The group policy "hide these specified drives" in user configuration administrative templates windows components windows explorer is not configured. I can't figure out how they were hidden. Does anyone know how this could be done?

The TweakUI power toy for XP has an option to hide drives. Is the 2K version on these machines?

Also, check Computer Management, Disk Management.

It's possible this was done manually to a single machine and then used as a Ghost image for the others. In that case there may not be a system admin tool that's responsible.

Hide drives is based on user

the drives are not hidden if I log on with another user that is not in the same OU.so I think that it has something to do with the user ou. I think that the machine setup was closned with RIS.
