Don't know if this will do all that you need.
But check out this TR article on hidden partitions. If the article doesn't do it, there are a number of links in the articles listed at the end of the article.

SET UP MULTIBOOT SYSTEMS WITH HIDDEN PARTITIONS
Windows operating systems don't work well when they are installed on the
same hard drive partition. This could spell trouble when installing a
Windows multiboot system. Avoid potential headaches with this tip on hidden
partitions.

well, there is a Registry tweak that will hide any drive.
Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Name: NoDrives
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: To calculate the value, add together the numbers for the drives you want to hide, using the formula: A=1, B=2, C=4, D=8, E=16, F=32, G=64, and so forth. To hide & E:, the value would be 8+16=24.

So, you could set it that way. Now, another easier way to hide a drive is to download and install TweakUI from Microsoft. One of its sections (under the MyComputer tab) lets you click a checkbox beside any drive letter you want to hide. Uncheck the drive, click OK, and that is it. Easy.
You can download TweakUI here:

You could use a combination of the above answers with hiding the drive, but your friend (or other user, etc) can still type d to get there and access the drive.

If you convert your drive (if it isn't already) to NTFS, just set up security permissions so that you have access to the drive, and no one else. When your friend logs in - use the registry key above, and even if he tries to access d: by typing it in the run line, etc. he will get an "access denied" message due to permission restrictions.
