Hiding mapped share

Is there a way under windows environment to map a share in a way that the user can’t see it?
I don’t mean by hiding it with the “$” sign.
What I mean is the share is mapped to any letter, but when the user opens explorer they can’t see it?
I runa software auditing program at useres logon that requires a mapped drive and read and write access to it. Some users have been saving files to that share, which I want to avoid.
