Hiding multiple e-mail recipients

By mike.peck ·
I would like to send informational e-mails to a list of our clients. What I don't want to do is have the e-mail address of everyone the mailing was sent to appear on the mailing. How do a send an e-mail to multiple recipients and not have the names and e-mail addresses show up on the mailing. I would like to do this through Outlook Express but could do it through Outlook if necessary.

Thanks,
Mike peck

Howzit Mike
Sooo sorry to tell you this but its no problem from either Outlook or outlook express.;-)

From express open your address book the click on file>new group

Now give the group a name eg "Undisclosed Recipient" select the selet members box .
now select the people from your mailling list .(you can creat multiple groups

Now if you want to send the same mail to say the Accounts Dept. and you have a group called ACC with eveyone who needs that mail ,select the ACC from you Mailling list.

I don't remember all the menu options so if you do get stuck contact me and I'll mail you detailed instrutions.
Best Luck
SPiNner

As answer 1 stated, you can create Personal Distribution lists in either Outlook Express or Outlook. When sending the email, simply put the Distribution List in the BCC (blind carbon copy). To add the BCC field to a new message, start a new message and click on View>BCC.
When you send via a BCC, the recipients do not see the BCC field, so the list is hidden.

A distribution list is useful, but it won't hide your list by itself.

Whether you use a distribution list or not, make sure to put it in the BCC section so your recipients don't see the list.
