Hiding Status Bar

By swifter_uk ·
I have a discussion forum running from a url that is different to the url of the sql database that supplies it.

The status bar shows the url of the database server when various links are highlighted, is their some code I can add to my page to hide status bar.

I realise that right clicking view source still shows info, this is not a problem, it will just be aesthetically more pleasing not to have it showing to all and sundry.

Thanks in Advance.

Of course, if you open the forum in a child window, you can set the options of that window to not display the status bar (assuming the user has Javascript enabled).

Another thing you could do if the user has Javascript enabled is to simply set the status message to "" in the onMouseOver event of each link.

If you need help in the mechanics of these actions, view the Javascript FAQ at

Good luck.
