I’m an IT Manager for a manufacturer, and one of the many “Perks” of that title is dealing with pushy IT-related sales reps.
In particular, I seem to get 20 calls a week from companyies stating that they have the only true high yield toner drum.These are the same people that will get your name, get you to say yes to something and then ship you 8 cases of printer toner and expect payment.
I guess I’m trying to get everyone’s rude salesman call stories to see that I’m not alone. Bye the way, I never had any printer toner shipped to me without my expressed interest.
My story:
I had an idiot call me(probably the thousanth time) and start going through his written spill about his revolutionary product! I stopped him, asked if hesold printer toner and he said, “We sale a lot of things, what is your title sir?”. I asked my question again, “yes sir, but what is your title?”. I’m the IT Manager, “and your name sir?”. You don’t need that, I’m not interested. “You aren’t interested in saving your company money?” I didn’t say that, I just don’t want to buy your product. “Why don’t you do what they’re paying you to do and save them money, you’re just lazy!”
I hung up the phone and the idiot calls back in time to swear at me, then hang up.
Well, the idiot left me his 800 number and I called his manager, and told him what happened, and his manager started in on the sales pitch. Needless to say I hung up the phone.
When they call up. Just hang up!
