    Hiring question

    by cowabungadude ·

I was just charged with a hit and run misdemeanor, and I’ve been working towards a software development degree and have tons of certifications, I was wondering if any hiring it managers could tell me how it would affect me, and how to deal with this in interviews. I’m 19 and have no clue how to deal with any of this

This will be a tough one for you. In my experience, most employers now require background checks. Hit & run is a tough one and you can’t easily hide or ask them to overlook it. It won’t go away anytime soon. You should be up front with any potential employer, they might be willing to give you a shot.

Best wishes, sorry to hear about your circumstance.

      Back to your lawyer.

A hit and run is a serious offense that you should have had legal representation. This is a good question for your lawyer to discuss about how to frame it.

Sadly if you ran to avoid repercussions, then this is the fallout.

Now if you dinged a bumper and didn’t think much about it and the other driver had waved you on, different story. But back to your lawyer to build your story.

-> This is about a person’s character. Enough said.
