Hit Counter

I used Microsoft FrontPage to create a website. I used the Web Add-Ins Feature to add a hit counter. I am hosting it on my computer with XP Pro. The problem is that the hit counter stays at 1 even though I view the site from different IP addresses on different computers such as when I am at school. Why doesn’t it count the hits? Let me know if you have a fix. Also, just with the addition of the broken hit counter, this adds a lot of page load time even when I view the page locally. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.
