A link on home networking.

The "best" way (if offers firewall protection and NAT) is option 3.

I recommend the LinkSys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL router. I use one for my home networ. It's got 4 ports and you can attach a hub to it if you need more than four ports, does NAT (a form or firewall), filtering, etc. It'll work with PC Anywhere if you need to get into your home network from remote sites as well. You should be able to fine it for $100 or less at any computer shop.
