home Network connecttivity

I am attempting to connect two PC's to a common ADSL internet connection with MSN Broadband using an Abrescomm 800series modem, with a Linksys 4 port cable/DSL router. The main PC is running Windows ME and the other is Windows 98. I can't get a connection to the internet when I have the network connected, but get good connection with just one, bypassing the network. I don't get any display of my network when I click Network Neighborhood.
Could this be a cable, NIC, protocol, or other problems.

uh this may sound stupid
but have you enable ics (internet connection sharing)?
that could be the problem
have you tested connectivity with ping?
checked out connectivity with ipconfig?
(both of those commands are entered at the command prompt)

You don't need ICS.
Follow the instructions that came with your Linksys router.
You have to do a few things, 1) set up your internal network with a non-routable IP address range (or use the Linksys to supply IP addresses via DHCP - it does this well, 2) configure your Linksys router for DHCP (from your ISP in this case) or with the IP address that your ISP has given you. 3) Set the gateway IP address on your PC's to the routers IP address.
The Linksys website has all the steps well documented. Have a look there if you cannot find your manual (and who can).
Good luck
