Home Network Email Problems

By gario ·
Ok, I missing something. I have an XP Pro and Win98 machines cabled to a Linksys four port router/switch, which is connected to a cable modem. I am using Outlook on both machines with different user names as default, which were also defined in the master roadrunner account. However, I am only receiving the XP email account (User1) traffic. If I shutdown outlook on the XP machine, the email goes to the Win98 machine. When I send email from the XP Outlook (User1) to the default account on the Win98 machine (User2), nothing ever gets received. I do not log onto either the XP or the Win98 machine. Any Suggestions?

Make sure the usernames in Outlook are set up properly. The username for XP/Win98 is irrelevant, especially on Win98. The only username that matters is the email account username found in the mail account properties that matter.
For outlook express 6, that would be found by going to Tools/Accounts/<select your mail account>/servers tab/Incoming Mail Server/account name
