Home networking

By annemarais ·
I have a desktop and a laptop both running Windows XP Pro. I have connected them peer to peer which is working fine. Although I have set file sharing when I want to access the desktop from the laptop I get a message 'access denied, contact the administrator' I can access the laptop from the desktop no problem. I also have printer sharing working perfectly. There must be a hidden security config on the laptop. How do I find this?

You need to have the user name and password on the desktop that is on the laptop
In the control panel

Do you have any idea how brilliant you are? Of course it worked and not many people know how simple it was judging from the 'Googling' I did. Thanks so much
