I hope someone can offer some advice or point me in the right direction. I am intending to move my children’s computers from downstairs to upstairs in their rooms. However connectivity is the concern. I am looking into a wireless network for them.
At the moment I have a Netcomm NB5Plus4W Wireless router for my ADSL2+ and have configured the built -in AP for the WLAN. I have used my laptop as a testing tool around the house. At the top of the stairs, I get a connection that works but slowly (11Mbps). In the kids rooms, the connection isn’t strong enough to use the internet.
What’s the best method for improving the connection? Should I get a larger antenna for the router downstairs? Should I had an access point upstairs and link that to the router downstairs? Or both? Are there any recommended products? If so, which ones have an improved WLAN range?
