Host File: 2nd post

thanxs to all on the first post. trying to edit “hosts” file to allow graphing program on computer #1 (xp pro) to receive brokerage firm data streaming into computer #2 (linksys router w/cable modem system). sample in file is
102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com #source server
38.25.63.10 x.acme.com #x client host
(after ‘#’ is comments), but what is “acme” for?? is that needed?? and there is no “www” – i presume that is NOT needed?? can of course open with “notepad”, but choosing “save as” and “all files” leaves me with the “Encoding” choice.options are: “ansi”, “unicode”, “unicode by big endian”, “UTF-8”. if i remember, i was left with a “text file”. (i don’t think i want that). i can just choose “save”???
