Hosting our own internet servers

We are getting ready to bring back in-house our internet servers and services. I was looking for desogn guidlines for the infrastructure to support it. things like best firewall for hosting sites, SSL accelerator info – uses, best practices, server load ballancers – uses, best practices. any other help to make the connection extreamly fast, secure, and bullet proof.
