Hour Glass on Taskbar after Remote Desktop starts

By garthjones85 ·
Appreciate any assistance...

I have upgraded to XP a few weeks ago and now I am seeing the following problem.

On connecting to my remote server via Remote Desktop the taskbar locks up. I cannot get to it because the hour glass shows if I move the cursor over it.

Sometimes if I do a Ctrl-Alt-Del, select Log Off but don't run that, then go to the Task Manager, then close that, the taskbar frees up. But only sometimes.

Wierd I know but it is what it is.

Appreciate any assistance as this is causing me a real headache as I cannot manage the remore server correctly. This worked all fine in Win 2000 previously.

by AbaidM In reply to Hour Glass on Taskbar aft ...

I have the same problem. Sometimes all you
get is a black blank screen and you have to
kill the terminal server session and try
again. This is not limited to XP clients, in
our case it happens with Vista, Win 2003,
etc. Please has anyone got a solution for
