new clean install of xp occupies nearly 3Gb of my hard drive. a big chunk of it is something that defragmenter says cannot be moved. what is this?
now, when i say “clean” it only means i think it is clean. in fact, boot seems to think there are two different xps installed;
boot.ini says:
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
however, when i look at the disk with device manager, all i see is one partition covering the whole disk.
so what’s this rdisk(0)partition(1) and rdisk(0)partition(2) business?
