How Can I delete ‘Open With’ entries?

When one attempts to open a file of a type that is not in file associations list, an ‘Open With’ window pops up prompting one to create a new file association for the file that needs to be opened. The ‘Open With’ popup lists available applications that can be used to open documents and a ‘browse’ button allows for locating additional applications which will be added automatically to the popup’s list of such applications thereafter. The ‘Open With’ popup is not equipped with any ‘Delete’ or ‘Edit’ buttons that would allow one to delete applications from the list. Is there any way to delete entries from this list? Somehow I managed to create multiple entries for a single application which, although not life-treatening, is very annoying indeed!
