How can I enable my long-ago disabled onboard sound?

by thekels . Updated 18 years, 1 month ago

Over a year ago I bought an external Creative SB external sound card so I could plug in various things to its face (like headphones, et cetera). I don’t remember what I did, if anything, to disable the onboard sound card that my system came with, but a long story short I have unplugged my external card and I want to use my internal one again. I don’t know how to do this though.. I see nothing in the Systems icon under Control Panel about an onboard card, and when I looked at the BIOS I saw nothing about anything onboard being turned off. I’ve downloaded the latest AC97 drivers as well, but still whenever I unplug my external my computer says there are no sound devices installed.

Help me, please. I have a EMachines T6532. It’s all factory parts besides extra RAM and a newer, beefier graphics card.
