How can I retrieve data from a RAW USB stick?

By chubbmaster ·
I have an Intuix DiskonKey USB stick that has a file system of RAW, and I cannot access it. It is being detected fine by the PC and appears fine in Device Manager/Disk Management.

I'm sure there must be some Freeware I can download that can retrieve the data, although I can't find any that works? Any suggestions? I've tried EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard and that didn't pick anything up.

CHKDSK/r from the Recovery Console in Windows but you'll need your Install Disc and then most likely the Full M$ Recovery Disc not a System Makers Recovery Set.

But if that doesn't work the most likely explanation is that the USB Thumb Drive has failed. This happens all of the time with the cheap USB Sticks and to a lesser extent with the more expensive ones. It's just poor quality assembly involved of the circuit Board in the Thumb Drive.

The expensive ones will be replaced UG by their maker but the cheap ones are Throw Aways.

As for the Data if it is possible to recover it a Professional Data Recovery House is the only real option available.
