How can I set up POP accounts on my android galaxy 2 s?

By PF Pressel ·
I ave a new replacement galaxy 2s. at the same time, our server at work was updated. Now when I try to install the email on the exchange server, it all goes through fine, and then gives me an error message tht the server can't connect due to security error. I have deleted and tried numerous time all with the same error.

Additionally, I have a POP email that I want to set on my android. The only choices I have for a new email is to use the exchange server setting. Where can I find out how to set up a new account. I have gmail., hotmail. and capabilities.com and I would like to have all 3 on my phone plus the exchange server account

Couple of thoughts

Lots of Droid users use and app called Touchdown to access exchange.

Not sure if you're trying to use POP or IMAP to get to exchange, but IMAP tends to work better.

There was a big change in that NTLM authentication for IMAP/POP clients was removed for Exchange 2010 (vs 2007).

Support for NTLM authentication for POP3 and IMAP4 connectivity has been brought back in Exchange 2010 SP1.

I believe that the built-in pop client can handle Gmail as is, it's

Tap the Home icon
Tap the Grid icon so you can view all installed applications
Tap the Email icon
Enter your Email Address and Password for the account you are setting up and tap Next

Select the type of account: POP3, IMAP, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync; select either POP3 or IMAP, as appropriate
