How can normal users install IE Plugins?

By FaisalMasood ·
We have a large group of clients distributed among different locations & working independent of other groups.

I'm having some problem regarding some IE plugins which are required for our daily operations & some applications.

One such problem is Terminal server Advanced client (TSAC). I've installed it on web server & users access it using http://servername/tsweb. The problem is that it downloads & install a plugin for the first time user in IE.

If that user have admin rights then it installs the plugin. In case the user does't have the admin rights then it doesn't work.

So we have to logon with some admin account, access that site so as that TSAC plugin gets installed & then log off. After that when any user log on to that PC,it works fine for them.

There are few other web applications which require the plugin to be installed on the client IE.

Question:

1) Tell me how can we automatically install the plugin on all client systems without having to logon to their PC with admin account?

2) Is there a way / registry setting which allows us to accomplish this?

3) We also don't want to lower the security settings in IE if possible?

Run the IE the first time with Run as... option and use admin credentials. It should work fine. To get the Run as... submenu, press & hold the Shift key while right-clicking on the IE icon.

It worked. But this method is suitable for few users. Read first line of my Question. For large & distributed networks its not good.

I don't want to share admin login. Any other way to do it without sacrificing admin login. Using admin login users can install any thing. Which I don't want to.

Any other smart way....?

Thanks for this tip. It worked. But in this case we have to give admin login to our users. Or some administrator have to go to each client & use RunAs as you mentioned to install the plugin.

Is there other way around to thisissue? Say what if I have 500+ users. Then what would be the best scenarion.

Thanks in Advance.
