How do I change the default tab setting in MS Word 2000?

Whenever I create a new MS Word document, the default tab setting is 0.5″, but my preferred tab setting is 0.1″

Is there a way to modify the default tab setting so that a new MS Word document appears with 0.1″ tab setting?
