How do I configure OWA to be accessed from any location?

By csheppard ·
I'm sure the answer is simple, I just can't seem to find it.

I configured OWA securely with SSL and Certifications. Within my domain, I and other users can access it on the internet. But from their homes, if they put in the same url, it won't come up. What am I doing wrong?

I have my Exchange Front End Server in the DMZ zone, and I figured that with using public IP addresses, it would be made accessible.

Can I get someone's expertise?

OWA with FE server

by azizhakim In reply to How do I configure OWA to ...

From your statement "Within my domain, I and other users can access it on the internet" I get that url = http://YOUR_MAIL_SERVER/Exchange.That will work because you are accessing your mailbox server directly through http protocol. If you add httpS internally you should not get viewable page.Your FE server needs to be accessed with https since ssl enabled and you FE server will contact GC and retrieve user mailbox and redirect to that server.Hope this helps

This doesn't really help

I already have HTTPS: configured on my FE server. We can all access it via SSL. Trying to access it that way from outside of the network still leads to no access.

Problems resolved

by csheppard In reply to FE Url

The issue I was having was not in the configuration on the server, but it was on the actual firewall. Doing a One to One NAT, it allowed me to have a successful ping from an outside source and also access the FE server.

Thanks to all who helped.
