How do I create a COM5 port in XP?

By SciFiMan ·
Windows XP Pro. How do I create a COM5 port? This is on an IBM 4835-xx3 kiosk and the infrared touchscreen needs COM5 for the driver to attach to. Right now after a fresh install of XP and the various kiosk related drivers there is only COM1 and COM2, plus LPT1.

Thanks!
David

Heres how you do it.
Go to control panel
Open Add New Hardware
Choose Yes you have installed the hardware already
Hit Next
choose add new hardware device at the bottom
Hit next
Choose the manually install hardware from the software I choose option
Choose Ports (com and Lpt)
Hit next
choose standard port/communitcation port
Hit next, next then finish

Once you do this it will create com 2, then you have to do it again for com 3 and so on up to port 5

This was just duplicated so I know it works...

Hit me back if you have any problems, but I think you will be fine...
