How do I disable the Logon when booting

By jrowl41280aol ·
Just restored a PC, and now when I start up it asks for the logon password. Which I don't need. How do I get rid of that prompt, because it is more annoying than anything else....

You enter a user name, and no password.
Then click on OK.

This assumes Windows 9X or Me, and that you do not have a NIC or a networking protocol installed that requires the use of a password.

Right Click on the Network Neighberhood Icon, and change the drop down from Client for Microsoft Networks to Windows Logon.

Do a search on the hard drive for *.pwl files. Delete any .pwl files and restart. On the restart it will ask for a user name and password. It should also tell you that if you do not enter a password you will not get this box again. Just enter a user name and click ok.
