How do I download flash drive drivers for XP?

By Marco911 ·
If anybody knows how to download a flash drive driver for Windows XP, it would be so great. The flash drive I purchased only has driver support for Windows 98/98 SE. I don?t have great downloading skills from the internet. If anybody would like to school me on this one, I?d be grateful for it.

Well first things first

You'll have to tell us the Make & Model of this unit before we can help you at all.

But generally speaking you do not need drivers for USB Devices like this to work with XP. They should be Plug & Play so all that is generally required is to plug it in and go.

Unless this computer is part of a Domain there should be no need to do any more than that. However if it is part of a domain you may be required to speak to the System Administrator as they could have Rules in Place to prevent the use of devices like this.

USB Drivers

In addition to what OH Smeg posted, it is possible that your USB drivers were never properly installed, or your ports are disabled.

Do other USB devices work on your computer?

If this is your personal computer, do you keep up with Windows Updates?

A few USB drive manufactures do post the Windows 98 drivers as many new hardware devices do not work with the older versions of Windows. Every different make and model USB drive that I have plugged into any Windows XP system has had the driver install automatically and been fully recognized by Windows.
