The OS in use isn’t important for this

You use a Wiping Utility like Boot & Nuke

      http://www.dban.org/download

      Or Kill Disc

      http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm

Burn the ISO to a CD then insert the CD into the Optical Drive on the Server, if necessary change the Boot Order to Optical Drive before any HDD and run the Wiping Utility.

As to how you do this is depends on if you have a software or Hardware RAID in use here so if you have a Hardware RAID you can wipe the drives at the same time and if you have a Software RAID you need to wipe the drives one at a time.

If you had any Important Data on these drives Boot & Nuke would be the better option at destroying everything on the drives but Kill Disc is easier for some people to use.

Personally I can not see much difference in the User Side but Boot & Nuke defiantly is more likely to render the drives unreadable to anything but very expensive drive destroying Recovery Processes.

Both of the above are free to use for personal use.

      Col
