I just added an older hdd, samsung4002h, to my new PC. Ste the jumpers to SLAVE. Had no problem with install and bootup. It was recognized in Disk Management and Device Manager as Local Disk(E:). So I backed up some old files that I wanted to keep then tried to clean the old hdd and reinstall the same O/S(XP/SP2 boot discs). Got the message “Drive not formatted, would you like to format now?” Boy! what a mistake! New message says “Drive cannot be formatted.” Now I can’t get it to format nor can I gain access to the old hdd. What do I need to do to make this drive so I can save files there for use and storage?
