How do I get rid of compatibility mode in Windows XP?

by len.piko . Updated 16 years, 6 months ago

The computer that working on is a HP lap with 180GB hard drive;2GB memory; Windows Office 7 and Windows XP OS. I am trying to use my thumb drive to open some files that I need. The problem that compatibility mode keeps loading when I try to use my files from my thumb drive. I can use this thumb drive on other computers and it works fine. I do not want to use the compatibility mode. Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of the compatiblity mode? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
