How do I have a real continous section break in a word column?

by in1 . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

I have a word document and some of the pages have columns. Within the columns, I want the first 10 lines of the first column, and the last ten lines of the second column not to have line numbers. I would like the rest of the text in both columns to have line numbers. When I add a continuous section break, it breaks my columns apart.

The first 10 lines are in 2 five line columns, the bulk of the page is in two other columns below these small columns. The last 10 lines are in two 5 line columns at the bottom of the page.

Is there any way to have some of my column with line numbers, and other parts without? Is there a way to break a column into sections while maintaining the flow of the columns?
