How do I include Excel data in a footer?

By carlaj ·
I need to include some data from the body of a worksheet in the footer when I print the spreadsheet. The fields offered to me for the footer seem to be limited to simple things like date, page no. etc. Is there any way to reference another item in the spreadsheet?

Go to File, Page Setup and click on the Header/footer tab. At the bottom select Customize Footer. You should be able to type in more text.

Hope this helps.

I know you can type in text - what I want to do is include a reference to a worksheet row/column item so that the footer contents will change dynamically when the worksheet field changes.

This is straight from the Excel Help file...

You cannot insert graphics or cell references in a header or footer. Use print titles if you want to repeat cell contents or a graphic on every printed page.

I think you are out of luck unless you write a marcro to write the footer on the fly...
