How do I insert a table into the header of MS Word without any para marks?

By dmiyoshi ·
When I try to insert a table into the header/footer of an MS Word (2007) document, I always get a paragraph mark under the table (which forces the table to be higher than I wish). How can I get rid of the paragraph mark? I have tried displaying all the format marks so that the paragraph mark is visible, than highlighting and deleting it to no avail. I know this is possible because I am trying to format my document to match a template that was sent to me, which has no paragraph marks above or beneath the table. When I try to copy and paste the table into the footer of my document, the paragraph mark is there. How can I get rid of it? I have looked at the table attributes and they match exactly.
