how do i install my motherboard drivers?

By 8phils ·
Hi I bought a nvidia 7600 GS card, to go in my Asus K8UX motherboard. It runs games fine but if I play any movies the computer becomes unstable and unuseable. It plays youtube videos with no problems. If I go onto Display settings > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot and bring the hardware acceleration down so it disables all DirectDraw and all Direct3D accelerations movies play with no problems. The reason why I mentioned the above is that I reinstalled windowsXP on this computer and didnt install the drivers for the motherboard which XP used its own drivers for. As I had lost the original CD with the drivers on I tried downloading drivers but could not get them to work as windows would not boot everytime. Looking in device manager I know I can update the drivers but I dont know which bit is the motherboard and I dont want to break it again.

any info on this would be great
thanks

If your problem is video card related, your motherboard drivers are not likely to be much help.

You should get new drivers at www.nvidia.com, even if your card came with drivers.

You might also want to run some of the DirectX 9 tests. Install the latest from the MS website and run some of their direct X tests.

Since you are using a video card versus the video on the MB, the MB drivers won't impact you.
