How do I keep track of all my online password info?

By cflow ·
What's the best way to track and manage the growing number of online accounts I have with unique user names and passwords. I'm currently using a password protected spreadsheet but there's got to be a better option. Thanks for any help.

Cheers

I must confess that I have access to at least five 'password vault' apps, and I also use a XLS file for that.

While not bulletproof, the encryption methods used by MS Office are reasonably secure, and if your sheet contains only hints, and not actual passwords, then don't knock something that works. Also, if you use normal best practices like not using the same password for everything forever, then you should be fine.

What I do plan to try is an app for my iphone. As long as it is easy to use and reasonably secure, then the phone makes sense since I use at least two or three different computers on a regular basis.
