How do I make Mapped drives seem local?

By john.a ·
I want to install a backup program on a W2K server. The problem is the backup program only recognizes local drives, for backups. Is there a way to fool the OS into thinking a mapped drive is actually a local drive? I have already tried the conventional methods, like a shared folder that is actually a mapped drive. Nothing has worked so far.

The program is NetBackup Professional. It does not reconize mapped drives per design. I am try to find a work around - a way to trick it into "reconizing" mapped drives.

The backup program is NetBackup Professuional by Veritas. There is no error messages. I just want to use NetBackup to backup Mapped Drives, although it was not designed for it. Mapped drives do not show up in the NetBackup Interface.
