Are you sure that was all you had removed?

Sounds like there's more missing than just the Java VM from MicroSoft. That program should only be used by applications that are Java Based. If you need a Java VM, or the JRTE, go to Sun @: http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/download.html There you also find instructions as to the 'Hows' and 'Whys'. If you need more help, please give us some more info, like what programs you see affected. -d

Yes, I used a msjvm removal tool. According to my "reputable" site, I shouldn't encounter any troubles. Well, here I am. I went to Sun and downloaded the program. Didn't help. I re-installed IE7. That didn't help. Here is the message I get on my MySpace profile page: "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Click here to get the latest flash player."
In Internet Explorer options, I don't see anyplace to turn on javascript! I have also updated to the latest flash player. Also, I don't have this problem when I use Mozilla Firefox browser. Still need help.

ah- yea, the "My Space"

Now it's starting to make sense. Ok, if you must.... On the tool bar in IE you'll see 'Tools', a drop down menue will have an 'Internet Options' (at the bottom of the drop down under 'Tools') Click on that, a menue card will then show up. On the far right side of that you will see 'Advanced', click on that. Scroll down and you should see 'Java', with a box to check to 'Use JRE 1.5.xxx. That will activate the Java Run Time that you need. Below that you will also see the options to 'Play Animations', 'Play Sounds', and 'Show Pictures'. Those boxes should also be checked.
Also, under the 'Content' tab (3rd from the left, or right) the 'Content Advisor' must be 'Disabled' to view most of the "My Spaces".
Let us know if that fixes the problem. -d

I remember sometime ago, I did this same stupid thing, what saved my bacon was putting in my win 98 cd and copying the files over. Now that my windows xp cd is awol, I don't have a way to copy the files over. I've tried everything I can think of, short of kicking myself...Definitely need more help to get things together. I would really like to browse the net without seeing errors!!!!!!!!!!
