How do I reboot after installing sp4?

I installed sp4 on my win2000 server. When I reboot, the computer freezes. I can’t even reboot in Safe Mode. I tried a repair using my emergency repair disk but it is still the same.
Does anybody know how to fix this? please.

Have you tried the “repair option” on the Win2K CD? It may complain that some files are older if it isn’t an sp4 slipstreamed CD – if it does allow it to overwrite them.

Then try rebooting and checking that your system comes up. Then go a hunting to make sure all is working properly before heading to the sp4 update again.

Thanks to whose who answered my question. After retrying all options I finally reinstalled Win2000 over the top of the existing OS and got it to work OK. Very glad I had a backup server.
